Mauricio Orellana

Mauricio Orellana is Managing Director of Blue like an Orange Sustainable Capital. Mauricio has over 27 years of experience in private equity, and investment banking, besides financial services experiences. Mauricio also used to work for a development finance institution.

Between January 2019 until July 2021, Mr Orellana was the Chief Operating/Financial Officer and Board member of Andina Acquisition Corp III. Mr. Orellana has served as a financial consultant to companies in Latin America in the media, infrastructure and services sectors since 2013.

From August 2015 to March 2018, Mr. Orellana served as Chief Financial Officer and a member of the board of directors of Andina II. From 2005 to 2013, Mr. Orellana was a Managing Director at Stephens Inc., a private investment banking firm.

From 2000 to 2005, Mr. Orellana was a Vice President and Managing Director at Cori Capital Partners, L.P., a financial services firm. Prior to this, he served as Investment Officer for Emerging Markets Partnership and Inter-American Investment Corporation, each private investment firms.

Since 2021, Mr Orellana has been a Board member of CIFI an entity focused on financing middle market infrastructure projects in Latin America, he has participated in several committee of the organization, including chair of the credit committee, member of the risk committee, asset management committee and nomination committee.

Since 2019, Mr Orellana is a member of the investment committee of the Fondo de Inversión para el Desarrollo de Infraestructuras Dominicanas I, a fund dedicated to provide senior secured financing to infrastructure projects in the Dominican Republic.

Mr. Orellana received a degree in electrical engineering from the Universidad Central de Venezuela and an M.B.A. from the Instituto de Education Superior de Administracion.
