Cristina Penteado is Managing Director and Head of Brazil of Blue like an Orange Sustainable Capital.  Cristina has over 20 years of experience in private equity, mezzanine and investment banking, besides strategic planning and M&A in the corporate market.

Cristina Penteado is Managing Director and Head of Brazil of Blue like an Orange Sustainable Capital.  Previouly, Cristina was Partner and Head of Private Equity at STS Gaea Capital, a Brazilian asset management firm focused on providing growth capital to middle-market companies.  Prior to joining STS Gaea, Cristina was a Director at Credit Suisse (Brazil), where she led the mezzanine financing practice with a generalist and flexible mandate in terms of transaction size, currency, maturity period, and an array of financial and legal instruments.

 

Before Credit Suisse, Cristina worked as Head of Private Equity for Brazil and Senior Vice President of Darby Overseas Investments.  During her tenure at Darby, Cristina was dedicated to three Latin American regional funds, and also served as board member in investee companies of the private equity and venture capital portfolios, which included diverse sectors, such as fuel distribution, generic drugs manufacturing, hospitality, and payment processing, among others.

Cristina was also a member of the investment banking team at Morgan Stanley in New York, held positions of Corporate Development Manager and M&A Analyst at Bunge, and of Business Development Analyst at Santista Alimentos, a subsidary of Bunge in the consumer goods sector in Brazil.  Cristina holds an MBA from the University of Chicago and has bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration from the Getúlio Vargas Foundation and Biological Sciences from the University of São Paulo.
