Areas of impact

Smart and sustainable cities: Urban mobility is critical for sustainable development, particularly in cities where there is high population density, including capitals and large cities in Latin America. Tembici targets downtown locations with high traffic, near commercial and business centers, universities and tourist attractions, giving priority to urban roads with bike lanes and integration with other transportation modals, such as buses and subways. Given its shared network of bikes and e-bikes, the Company seeks to complement the public urban infrastructure and collaborate with the public sector in order to support the development of sustainable micromobility and smart cities.

Affordable and clean mobility: By offering different types of plans, Tembici addresses the needs of a broad set of customers, including daily plans for occasional users, such as tourists and leisure activities, and annual or monthly subscriptions for daily commuters. In addition, the use of bikes as a means of mobility instead of fossil fuel vehicles contributes to the reduction of the environmental impact of transportation in urban areas in Latin America. Besides being a clean alternative, Tembici offers affordable and quality transportation to its users.

Fostering healthier habits: As a form of aerobic exercise, cycling helps to burn calories, lowers blood pressure, increases the level of good cholesterol, and has also been shown to reduce the risk of developing diabetes. In addition, cycling can help to reduce stress by stimulating the body to produce endorphins, which also helps fight depression.

Connectivity through partnerships: Among other initiatives, Tembici has established a partnership with iFood (a Brazilian food delivery app), which provides an efficient and sustainable mode of transportation for delivery services. Through this partnership, delivery couriers, an occupation that has significantly increased during the COVID-19 pandemic, can use e-bikes at more affordable prices. The iFood program includes an education pillar, focused on safety and road awareness, and a delivery support pillar, with an infrastructure of service stations around the city. At the service stations, delivery workers can check-in/return bikes, eat, rest, having access to Wi-Fi, bathroom, cell phone charger, besides work safety equipment and gear, such as masks, helmets, and bags.
